Empowerment Academy is looking for Special Education Teachers to join our school! You MUST hold TOSD Certification issued by the NJ DOE, please only apply if certified. This is for an immediate vacancy for this year and beyond. We have 3 campuses. Please see below for the openings:
- Elementary K-2 Push-In/Pull-Out Small Group
- Elementary 1st Grade Inclusion Teacher
- Middle School Push-in/ Pull-Out Small Group
- High School Mathematics, Special Education (needs to be certified in both or TOH)
- High School ELA/English, Special Education (needs to be certified in both or TOH)
- High School Science, Special Education (needs to be certified in both or TOH)
Special Education Certified teachers are eligible for a $3,000 bonus!
Base Salary SY24/25: $67,000- $87,000
Potential Earnings: $71,000 - $91,000+ after Bonuses and Stipends.

TEACHER SUPPORTS
Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team. They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
Examples of such teacher supports include:
- Abundant planning periods during the school day;
- A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials;
- High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item; and
- Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems.
Requirements
Candidates MUST either hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, Limited CE, CEAS or Standard Certificate in Special Education. To teach a High School Content Area, you need to be certified in that content area as well. Dual certification is required.
